We have accomplished so much with your support thus far in 2007! Our Annual Awards Celebration drew 120 people to the Community Action AgencyÕs meeting facility to hear City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr., and to honor their peers and colleagues. We received a grant from the Seasongood Foundation to create a regional website (www.citizenresourcesatwork.org) which will include all the civic, community development, health, environmental and volunteer trainings in the area, plus allow attendees to evaluate the trainings online, so they can be read by others before signing up. WeÕve signed a contract with the Community Building Institute of Xavier University to build stronger relationships between CDCs and Cincinnati Public Schools, including creation of a Powerpoint presentation about housing opportunities in Cincinnati neighborhoods In partnership with LISC, weÕve produced two trainings and two Brown Bag Seminars (one of each on green/ sustainable development) as well as three of our own Issue Roundtables YouÕve received our emailed Spring and Summer Networker newsletters (always available on our website) and three Updates, calendars of meetings, conferences and events of interest. A number of our members were appointed to serve on GO Cincinnati, which is making economic development recommendations to Mayor Mark Mallory and Cincinnati City Council Several members are leaders in the Homeownership Preservation Group, and others are active in the Affordable Housing Advocates And, as always, weÕre listening, lobbying and working hard to make sure that community development stays on the agenda of key decision makers throughout the region Our Annual Community Development Bus Tour on October 5, traveled to Camp Washington, Price Hill, Northside and College Hill. Our Annual Holiday Reception co-hosted by LISC and the Uptown Consortium with speaker Roxanne Qualls Three Issue Roundtables, including a gathering coming up at the Hamilton County Development Corporation Our Fall and Winter newsletters, full of pictures, news and dates important to you and others in the community development community A LISC training and 2 Brown Bag Seminars, one of them on maintenance issues Website creation for CDC members to highlight their achievements, thanks to our SC Ministry Foundation Grant Research funded by the SC Ministry Foundation on new and emerging national, state and local funding sources for community development operations and projects View achievements of previous years
